Old Age Security

The OAS pension is a monthly payment available to seniors who meet the following requirements.

• You must be 65 years or older
• You must live in Canada and be a Canadian citizen or a person authorized to live in Canada at the moment of the approval of your application for the Pension Plan
• You must have lived in Canada for at least 10 years after your 18^th birthday

Guaranteed Income Supplement

The GIS provides a monthly, non-taxable benefit to OAS pension recipients living in Canada who have a low income.

You are eligible for the Guaranteed Income Supplement if you meet the following criteria:

• You receive the Old Age Security benefits
• Your annual income (or for a couple, your combined annual income) is less than the maximum threshold established for the year

Service Canada Centre

In the riding of Hull-Aylmer, the only Service Canada Center is located at 920 boulevard Saint-Joseph in Gatineau.

You may also contact an officer at 1-800-277-9915 and ask to receive the kits by mail.

As a Quebec resident, you are eligible for the Quebec Pension Plan in place of the Canada Pension Plan.
